A delicious liquid food supplement that provides readily absorbable iron, Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12 and vitamin C in a base of carefully selected herbs, fruit concentrates, yeast, kelp, wheat germ, and rose hips for additional nutrition. Can be used throughout pregnancy and following childbirth, during heavy menstruation and for vegetarians and growing infants and children to help maintain adequate iron levels. Each 10ml of formula provides 7.5mg of absorbable iron. Floradix Formula contains no artificial preservatives, colouring or flavours.

Uses:
To help maintain adequate iron levels during pregnancy, following child birth, during heavy menstruation and for vegetarians and growing infants and children. For anaemia, combine Floradix Formula with higher dose iron supplementation (such as Solgar Gentle Iron) as recommended by your health professional, and nettle tea to enhance absorption and utilisation of iron.

Dosage:
Each 10ml (1/2 measuring capful or 2 teaspoons) contains the equivalent of 7.5mg of iron.

Infants 0-6 months of age: Take maximum of 5ml daily or as recommended by your doctor.

Infants 7-12 months of age: Take 5ml daily.

Children 1-5 years of age: Take maximum of 5ml twice daily.

Children 6-12 years of age: Take a maximum of 5mls three times daily.

Adults: Take 10mls twice daily.

Take before meals.

Health Information: Iron is the main component required for the body's manufacture of haemoglobin, which transports oxygen around the body for cellular function. A lack of dietary iron leads to iron deficiency anaemia and associated fatigue.

Iron is also an essential constituent of many enzymes required for proper health. Iron-dependent enzymes influence energy utilisation and metabolism and the synthesis of collagen, brain neurotransmitters and DNA. Many symptoms of iron deficiency are associated with cellular oxygen depletion. Vitamin B6, B12, C and the addition of selected herbs assist in the body's absorption and utilisation of iron.

Iron deficiency is associated with: anaemia, fatigue, weakness, "restless legs" syndrome, pregnancy, heavy mentruation or excessive loss of blood. Use of iron supplementation when blood levels are not low is detrimental to health. Therefore only take iron supplements in the short term unless a blood test has indicated a need for additional iron.

Safety Information:
Contains gluten and yeast. Not suitable for coeliacs and those with yeast overgrowth. Contains no preservatives and requires refrigeration after opening.

WARNING: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep this product out of reach of children. Do not exceed recommended dosage unless advised by your health professional. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control centre immediately.
