Solgars Grape Seed Extract 100mg provides approximately 95 mg of antioxidant, free radical scavenging phenolic compounds. Grape seed extract contains proanthocyanidin B2-3'-0-gallate which is the most free radical scavenging of the oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). OPC's have greater antioxidant effects than vitamin C and E and can cross the blood-brain barrier. (Ref: Murray, M. 1996, Encyclopedia of Nutritional Supplements, Prima Publishing, California, USA).
Uses:
Grape seed extract provides support for allergies, broken capillaries, varicose veins and visual function and hyperactivity. Acts as an antioxidant providing protection against fat soluble and water soluble free radicals and supports the cardiovascular system. Useful during the process of detoxification.
Dosage:
Adults: Take 1-2 capsules daily. (Vegie caps)
Children (4-11 years): Take 1 capsule daily.
Health Information: OPC's or Oligomeric proanthocyanidins have demonstrated a wide range of activity including:
- Increase intracellualr vitamin C levels
- Decrease capillary permeability and fragility
- Scavenge oxidants and free radicals
